Medical air is used in inhalation, for example:
As part of the fresh gas flow in ventilator treatment and/or anaesthesia.
As a propellant in the inhalation of medicines, for example for inhalation with a nebuliser.
As pure air in the care of patients prone to infection, for example in organ transplantation or extensive burns.
Medical air is supplied in a gas cylinder. The gas is usually inhaled via a nasal cannula or mask.
